These tents are designed with center poles to hold the vinyl top off the ground. Side poles with anchoring lines then stretch the tent out. While they generally have a more attractive sculpted look, pole tents require intense anchoring and are generally used in larger sizes. They are best for installation on gravel and/or grass and are great for festivals or budget priced events.

Frame tents (the most common tent type) are a vinyl top strapped over a frame of pipe and fittings. They need to be anchored for wind and rain protection and are ideal for difficult installations (i.e. rooftops, multiple connected tents, locations where there is less anchoring availability).
